 Indonesian Steamed Chicken Rice



What is rice :

White rice is easy on the digestive system.
 It's a gluten-free grain.
A staple across the world and one of the best ever comfort food.
There are many types of rice,but broadly speaking  there are categoriesed by there shape(long or short grain)and color-white or brown.
White color has had the fiber-rich outer bran of the grain removed along with the nutrient-rich germ.
As a result,it has a longer shelf life,is quick to cook but has a bland, nutrition flavor.


Soup Ingredients:

  • Dried shiitake mushrooms (boiled and cut) 3 digits
  • Zucchini (chopped) one digit
  • Celery (chopped) one digit
  • Ginger paste one tablespoon
  • Garlic paste one tablespoon
  • Spring onion ( chopped) 2 digits
  •  Salt to taste
  • Black pepper crushed to taste
  • Chicken cubes ½ digit
  • Cooking oil one teaspoon

Chicken ingredients:

  • Chicken pieces ( boneless) ½ kg
  • Ginger paste 2 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste 2 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce 2 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce one tablespoon
  • Honey one tablespoon
  •  One star anise 
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper (crushed) to taste
  • Sesame oil one tablespoon
  • Sambal as accompaniment

Rice ingredients:

  • Rice ( soaked) two cups
  • Celery one digit
  • Spring onion (chopped) one digit
  •  Salt to taste
  • Black pepper (crushed) to taste
  • Garlic paste two tablespoon
  • Ginger paste two tablespoon
  • Cooking oil two tablespoon

Method:

  1. First of all take a pot.
  2. To prepare soup heat oil in a pot.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, black pepper, zucchini, chicken cube, mushrooms, salt and fry.
  4. Add one cup water and bring to boil.
  5. Reduce flame and cook for 10 minutes more.
  6. Add spring onion and celery and remove from flame.
  7. Heat sea
  8. Heat sesame oil in a separate pot,fry ginger, garlic and star anise for a few seconds.
  9. Add all the remaining chicken ingredients and cook till chicken is tender.
  10. Heat oil in a pot,fry ginger, garlic, spring onion, celery and fry for a few minutes.
  11. Add rice, black pepper and salt,cook till rice is half done and sieve.
  12. Grease a steamer, transfer chicken and rice and steam for 20 minutes.
  13. Serve rice with soup and sambal.
