Batata Wara Full Recipe
Today we told you about Batata Wara.
Batata Wara is a papular Indian vegetarian fast food in Maharashtra, India.
The dish consists of a mashed potato patty coated with chick pea flour, witch is then deep-fried and served hot with chutney.
The Wara is typically around two or three cm in diameter.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes ( boiled and mashed) 3 digits
- Green Chilli ( chopped) 2 digits
- Ginger (chopped one tablespoon)
- Garlic one tablespoon
- Curry leaves (chopped) 4 digits
- Fresh corainder (chopped) 4 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon
- Mustered seeds ¼ teaspoon
- Lemon juice one teaspoon
- Gram flour (sieved) ½ cup
- Baking soda one pinch
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil 2 teaspoon
Chutney ingredients:
- Garlic 8 cloves
- Desiccated coconut ½ cup
- Sesame seeds 2 tablespoon
- Peanuts 2 tablespoon
- Kashmiri red chillies (paste) 2 teaspoon
- Corainder seeds ½ teaspoon
- Cumin seeds ½ teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil ½ teaspoon
Synthesis:
Blend green chillies and ginger garlic in a blender.
Heat oil in a pot and fry mustered seeds.
Add curry leaves, blended mixture and fry for a minute.
Add turmeric powder, potatoes, fresh corainder, lemon juice, salt and remove from flame.
Shape the mixture into balls.
Mix baking soda, gram flour and salt in a bowl.
Add water to make a thick batter and coat balls with it.
Heat oil in a wok,fry balls till golden and remove.
Heat oil in a saucepan and fry garlic.
Add peanut, coconut, cumin, corainder, sesame seeds and fry.
Remove saucepan from flame,add red chilli,salt and mix.
Blend the mixture in a blender when cold and serve with batata Wara.
